On Tuesday 21st of January Professor Miriam Fernandez engaged with Higher Education stakeholders to discuss about various aspects of the proposed Responsible AI (R-AI) framework tailored to Learning Analytics (LA) in Higher Education (HE).

The event was organised by HESPA – Higher Education Strategic Planners Association and the Learning Analytics special interest group. This online event attracted 49 attendees across UK Higher Education institutions.

This event was a great opportunity to discuss the use of Learning Analytics tools, how they can support students, the need to identify and address bias and discrimination in AI-driven learning analytics systems, which is the main objective of our current work in the Fairness Innovation Challenge.
