Kickoff

The project’s Kickoff meeting took place on Tuesday 30th of April. The four winning solutions of the Fairness Innovation Challenge presented their plans. These include: (i) The Open University, for the work that this project will deliver to improve the fairness of AI systems in Higher Education, (ii) The Alan Turing Institute, for tehir work to create a fairness toolkit for SMEs and developers in the financial sector, (iii) King’s College London who will design a solution to address bias and discrimination in healthcare, and (iv) coefficient, who will focus on screening algorithms that are often used in the recruitment sector 

In addition to the winning projects, the Equality and Human Rights Commision and the Information Commissioner’s Office presented their offer to support to the four winning projects.
